Position Vacant – Apprentice (martial arts) & Administrative Assistant
(Uchi deshi) – Aikido / Shinto Muso Ryu

This is a unique opportunity in a unique organisation. The Kenshinryu is a traditional martial arts organisation based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. The role is as administrative assistant for the Compass Institute and uchi deshi to the Chief Instructor.
The successful applicant will possess:

• Keen Martial Arts interest and experience
• A sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
• Experience in website management
• Skills and knowledge of computer systems and hardware
• Reception skills
• Administration skills
• A typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
• General office management skills

The role includes an extensive variety of duties and will require a person who is motivated, professional, and hard working. The successful applicant will have an acute eye for detail and excellent time management skills as well as the ability to make independent decisions.
Full time: Mon – Fri 8.30am – 4.00pm + evening training
Award: Clerical Employees Award Entry level 1 ($16.05 p.h.)

Kenjutsu – with permission from David Dangerfield Sensei of the Shinto Muso Ryu (SMR) we have commenced a Study Group in SMR Kenjutsu, under Dangerfield Sensei’s supervision. Initially this is Sundays 10-11am (after the Aikido training). This session is open to all who wish to study; it is not an Aikido activity, although most train in it. This will soon change to a 2 hour session once premises and a night have been arranged.
